Slightly stronger Hurricane Sally poised to unleash ‘historic flooding` on the U.S. Gulf Coast

Hurricane Sally is creeping slowly toward the U.S. Gulf Coast, where it is expected to make landfall late Tuesday or early Wednesday as a Category 1 hurricane, bringing with it the risk of life-threatening storm surge of up to 9 feet, more than 2 feet of rain, and possible tornadoes, according to the National Hurricane Center.
